Basic info.

Galvanizing refers to a surface treatment technology that coats a layer of zinc on the surface of metals, alloys or other materials for aesthetics and anti-rust effects. The main method used is hot-dip galvanizing.
Zinc is easily soluble in acid and alkali, so it is called amphoteric metal. Zinc hardly changes in dry air. In humid air, a dense basic zinc carbonate film will be formed on the surface of zinc. In the atmosphere containing sulfur dioxide, hydrogen sulfide and marine atmosphere, the corrosion resistance of zinc is poor, especially in the atmosphere of high temperature, high humidity and organic acid, the zinc coating is easily corroded. The standard electrode potential of zinc is -0.76V. For the steel substrate, the zinc coating is an anodic coating. It is mainly used to prevent the corrosion of steel. The quality of its protective performance is closely related to the thickness of the coating. After the zinc coating is passivated, dyed or coated with light protection agent, its protection and decoration can be significantly improved.

Galvanized coil, a thin steel sheet that is dipped in a bath of molten zinc to adhere a layer of zinc to its surface. Quality Testing

1.Performance indicators: Generally speaking, only galvanized sheets for structure, stretching and deep drawing have tensile performance requirements. Among them, the galvanized sheet for structure requires yield point, tensile strength and elongation, etc.; for stretching, only elongation is required. See the relevant product standards in "8" of this section for specific values;
2.Test method: the same as the test method for general thin steel plates, see the relevant standards provided in "8" and the test method standards listed in "Ordinary carbon steel thin steel plates".

(2) Bending test:
Bending test is the main item to measure the technical performance of thin plate, but the requirements of various galvanized sheets are not consistent in national standards. Except for structural grade, American standards do not require bending and tensile tests. In Japan, bending tests are required except for structural grades, architectural corrugated plates and general corrugated plates.

Requirements: It is generally required that after the galvanized sheet is bent for 180 degrees, there must be no zinc layer on the outer surface, and no cracks or breaks on the base of the sheet.

 
Packaging & Shipping

 
Divided into two kinds of galvanized sheet cut to length and galvanized sheet packaged in coils.
