COLD ROLLED STEEL COIL
Cold rolling: use hot-rolled steel coils as raw materials, pickling to remove scale, and then carry out continuous cold rolling. The finished product is hard rolled coils. Due to the cold hardening caused by continuous cold deformation, the strength, hardness, and toughness of hard rolled coils increase. The plastic index decreases, so the stamping performance will deteriorate, and it can only be used for parts with simple deformation. Hard-rolled coils can be used as raw materials for hot-dip galvanizing plants, because hot-dip galvanizing units are equipped with annealing lines. The weight of hard-rolled coils is generally 6-13.5 tons, and the steel coils are continuously rolled at room temperature for hot-rolled pickled coils. The inner diameter is 610mm.

Cold rolling is rolling under recrystallization, but it is generally understood as rolling using normal temperature rolling materials. Aluminum cold rolling is divided into plate rolling and foil rolling. Those with a thickness of 0.15~ or more are called plates, and those with a thickness of 0.15~ or less are called foils. Europe and the United States mostly use 3~6 continuous rolling mills as cold rolling equipment.
Since there is no heating during the production process, there are no defects such as pits and scales that often occur in hot rolling, and the surface quality is good and the finish is high. Moreover, the dimensional accuracy of cold-rolled products is high, and the performance and structure of the products can meet some special requirements for use, such as electromagnetic properties and deep drawing properties.

Because cold rolling has not been annealed, its hardness is very high (HRB greater than 90), and its machinability is extremely poor. It can only perform simple directional bending less than 90 degrees (perpendicular to the coiling direction). To put it simply, cold rolling is processed and rolled on the basis of hot rolled coils. Generally speaking, it is a process of hot rolling → pickling → cold rolling.
Cold rolling is processed from hot-rolled plates at normal temperature. Although the steel plate will heat up due to rolling during the processing process, it is still called cold rolling. The cold rolling formed by hot rolling through continuous cold deformation has relatively poor mechanical properties and too high hardness. It must be annealed to restore its mechanical properties. Without annealing, it is called hard rolled coil. Hard-rolled coils are generally used to make products that do not need to be bent or stretched. If the thickness is less than 1.0, hard-rolled coils are lucky to be bent on both sides or four sides.
Cold rolling is widely used, such as automobile manufacturing, electrical products, rolling stock, aviation, precision instruments, food cans, etc.
The cold plate is a hot-rolled strip of ordinary carbon structural steel, which is further cold-rolled into a steel plate with a thickness of less than 4mm. Due to rolling at room temperature, no iron oxide scale is produced. Therefore, the cold plate has good surface quality and high dimensional accuracy. With the addition of annealing treatment, its mechanical properties and process properties are superior to hot-rolled thin steel plates. In many fields, especially In the field of home appliance manufacturing, it has gradually replaced hot-rolled steel sheets.
