Hot rolling is relative to cold rolling, which is rolling below the recrystallization temperature, and hot rolling is rolling above the recrystallization temperature. To put it simply, a billet is heated and rolled several times, then trimmed and straightened into a steel plate, which is called hot rolling. It can significantly reduce energy consumption and cost. During hot rolling, the metal has high plasticity and low deformation resistance, which greatly reduces the energy consumption of metal deformation. Hot rolling can improve the processing performance of metals and alloys, that is, the coarse grains in the as-cast state are broken, the cracks are significantly healed, the casting defects are reduced or eliminated, the as-cast structure is transformed into a deformed structure, and the processing performance of the alloy is improved.

What is the use of hot rolled plate?
Hot rolled steel is used widely in agriculture equipment because of its high strength level and formability. The formability of hot rolled P&O can be simple bends to complex draws depending on the steel grade. Harvesters, tractors, and other farm machinery all require the strength that hot rolled offers.

What is the difference between hot rolled and cold rolled plates?
Hot rolled steel comes with a scaly surface, slightly rounded edges and corners and the surface is non-oily. Cold rolled steel has an oily or greasy finish, very smooth surface, and very sharp edges.

What are 3 advantages to hot rolled steel?
In general, hot rolling has better mechanical properties than cold rolling. The hot rolled steel has improved tensile strength, yield strength, ductility and toughness. In addition, it is important that heat treatment eliminates residual stresses.

Hot-rolled coils are made from slabs, which are heated and then rolled into strips by rough rolling mills and finishing rolling mills.
The high-temperature steel strip coming out of the finishing mill is cooled to the set temperature by laminar flow and wound into a coil by a coiler.
